1. Overview

This Fee Disclosure document provides transparency about all fees associated with using SessionApp. We believe in clear, upfront communication about costs so you can make informed decisions.

2. Platform Fees (Stripe Currently 6% and Cash 0% platform Fees)

2.1 Transaction Fees (Stripe Currently 6%)

For each session booking transaction processed through the platform:

  • A platform fee may be applied to each transaction
  • The exact fee percentage or amount will be displayed before you complete a booking
  • Platform fees are calculated based on the session price
  • Fees are deducted from the payment before funds are transferred to tutors

2.2 Fee Structure

The platform fee structure may vary based on:

  • Subscription tier (if applicable)
  • Transaction volume
  • Payment method used

Note: Current fee rates are displayed during the checkout process. Please review fees before completing any transaction.

3. Payment Method and Processing Fees

In addition to platform fees, payment processing fees are charged by third-party payment processors:

  • Cash : No processing fee or hidden charges. Provider or Tutor should collect cash from the client at their convenience and are responsible for tax reporting depending upon their local laws.
  • Stripe : Standard platform fees apply (typically 6% of the transaction amount for online payments)
  • We do not charge any processing fee from tutor or client. For payment method Stripe, All fees are paid to the payment processor.
  • These fees are set by the payment processor, not by SessionApp
  • Fees may vary by country and payment method

4. Subscription Fees

4.1 Subscription Plans

SessionApp may offer subscription plans with the following features:

  • Free trial period for new users
  • Monthly or annual subscription options
  • Different subscription tiers with varying features

4.2 Subscription Pricing

Subscription fees:

  • Are billed in advance (monthly or annually)
  • Are automatically renewed unless cancelled
  • Are non-refundable except as required by law
  • May change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

Current subscription pricing is displayed in your dashboard and during the subscription process.

5. Stripe Fee Breakdown Example

Here's an example of how fees are calculated for a $100 session:

Session Price: $100.00
Platform Fee (Currently 6%): +$6.00
User will pay total : $106.00
Amount to Tutor: $100.00

Note: This is an example only. Actual fees may vary based on your subscription tier and payment method.

6. Currency and Exchange Rates

If you transact in a currency different from your account currency:

  • Currency conversion may apply
  • Exchange rates are determined by payment processors
  • Additional fees may apply for currency conversion
  • SessionApp does not control exchange rates or conversion fees

7. Refund and Cancellation Fees

Regarding fees when refunds or cancellations occur:

  • Payment processing fees are typically non-refundable
  • Platform fees may or may not be refundable depending on the circumstances
  • See our Refund Policy for detailed information

8. Stripe Connect Fees

If you use Stripe Connect to receive payments:

  • Stripe Connect may charge additional fees
  • These fees are separate from SessionApp platform fees
  • Stripe Connect fees are set by Stripe
  • Review Stripe's fee structure when connecting your account

9. Fee Transparency

We are committed to fee transparency:

  • All fees are displayed before you complete a transaction
  • You can view fee breakdowns in your transaction history
  • Fee information is available in your dashboard
  • We will notify you of any fee changes in advance

10. Fee Changes

We reserve the right to modify our fee structure:

  • We will provide at least 30 days' notice of fee changes
  • Changes will be communicated via email and/or platform notifications
  • Existing subscriptions may be grandfathered at current rates for a period
  • You may cancel your subscription if you do not agree to fee changes

11. No Hidden Fees

We are committed to transparency. There are no hidden fees. All applicable fees are:

  • Disclosed before you complete a transaction
  • Shown in your transaction history
  • Outlined in this Fee Disclosure document
  • Available for review in your account dashboard
